Duke of Leuchtenberg weds hairdresser's maid

November 5, 1928

By wireless to the New York Times

Duke Nicholas of Leuchtenberg, a descendant of the Beauharnais and Russian Imperial families, was married yesterday in Munich to Ella Miller, who works as a maid to a local hairdresser.   This is the second marriage for the 32-year-old Duke.  He married in 1920 to Olga Fomin, a Russian, who died in Constantinople in 1921.
For the past "five or six years", the Duke has lived in Munich.  He is an accomplished musician, and has "often directed public concerts."
